Combined Years of Experience
Oak Framed Garden Room
GT was the main contractor on site organising all the trades for the building of the Oak Framed Orangery from Alba Oak. We removed the old conservatory and cleared the site. Then digging and laying foundations for the new extension, garden walls and drains. Building the new stonework for the dwarf wall plus garden wall and steps.
GT ensured that the client was kept up to date with the various trades attending site and made sure that everything ran smoothly.
Social Housing Project
Work has been completed on the new £1.8 million SBHA housing development at Rose Court in Langlee, which was handed over by Hart Builders and agents Eildon Housing on December 14.
The striking crescent-shaped development of 10 new 3-bed family homes replaced a block of maisonettes which was knocked down in 2015. As well as dedicated parking and gardens, the houses are highly energy efficient and will be affordable to heat.
SBHA customer services director, Henry Coyle, said: “We know that warm, affordable housing is in high demand across the Borders and family homes are much needed in Galashiels. This is a highly desirable development, situated in an elevated position and arranged in an innovative crescent shape with large windows which take full advantage of beautiful views of the Eildon Hills. This was a challenging site and we are really pleased to have completed the build as planned, and in time to allow people to move in before Christmas.”

I employed Gary and his team to do the external blockwork of my large timber frame new build in East Lothian. They completed the original job quickly and to the highest of standards. Their workmanship was complemented by the surveyor of the warranty company after his inspection. I was so impressed with Gary I used them on numerous other jobs on site, boundary walls, liquid screed, pillars, site clearance and landscaping. He makes things easy for the self builder. They arrive on time and don’t muck about and work for the price originally quoted. A rare find indeed.
First class work. Gary’s guys built a concrete base for a timber cabin kit. I also asked Gary to built me another larger and reinforced concrete base for a new garage along with substantial ground clearance, levelling and finishing. They used big boy toys (digger and dumper, etc) but they poured and levelled all the concrete by hand. Hard graft. Good friendly respectful lads. Very tidy workers.
Having tried to get quotations from many builders in the area, Gary not only returned our messages, but came along with a detailed quotation of the works we needed. We employed GT Construction to remove our old leaky conservatory and then dig foundations and build the walls for our new Oak framed Orangery and garden walls. Gary was super conscientious through the whole process. He got quotes for and managed the other trades on site, plus he ensured that we, as the clients were happy. Highly recommended!
